Mothi Sarees: Weaving Elegance Since 1925
Our journey began in 1925 with a visionary, Muniswamappa M, in the quaint town of Poonapalli, nestled on the border of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Starting with just a few handlooms, Muniswamappa laid the foundation of a legacy that continues to inspire generations. Driven by his passion for silk and craftsmanship, he created timeless sarees that reflected the rich heritage of India.

As the business grew, it found a new home in Anekal, where Ramaswamappa M, Muniswamappa’s son, took the reins. A visionary in his own right, Ramaswamappa expanded the handloom operations and significantly increased manufacturing capacity, ensuring that the art of weaving flourished while staying true to its traditional roots.
With the advent of modern technology, the next generation infused innovation into tradition. Mohan R, the grandson of Muniswamappa, revolutionized the weaving process by introducing power looms, increasing efficiency while preserving the intricate artistry of handwoven sarees.

Today, the legacy thrives under the stewardship of Chethan Kumar M, a dynamic young entrepreneur and the great-grandson of Muniswamappa. Chethan has propelled Mothi Sarees into the digital era, expanding the business beyond interstate borders to reach customers across India. With an ambitious vision to take the elegance of Mothi Sarees global, he continues to uphold the family's commitment to quality, heritage, and innovation.
